It
is nearly two decades since the Association of Iranian Jewish Women and Girls
(AIJWG) has benefited from the resources of the Association to take remarkable
steps in cultural, social and artistic fields and the volume of its work has
been climbing.
The Association of Iranian Jewish Women and Girls resumed its operation as of
1991 at a time that it seemed impossible to launch a Jewish organization of that
magnitude like other Jewish organizations. However conditions were such that
encouraged the Association to resume its operation with new added incentive and
vigor.
AIJWG must be considered as continuation of Iranian Jewish Woman Organization
which is an old organization in the Iranian Jewish community.
The efforts of the members of the Association of Iranian Jewish Women and Girls
proved successful and the Association received official permit from the Ministry
of Interior in the year 2002 to register its name and elect its members of the
board of directors.
Dr. Farangis Hesidim, who has spent 50 years of her life in Dr. Sepir Hospital
to serve the Iranian patients, can be reckoned as an efficient and accomplished
lady in the Iranian Jewish community. She truly deserved to be elected as the
chairman of the board of directors of Sepir Hospital;
Hesidim, who is the member of the board of directions of the Iranian Jewish
Association, is nowadays working with all her vigor and profits from her long
years of experience to contribute to the progress of AIJWG and to benefit from
the potentials available among Iranian Jewish women to serve their sisters.
The board of directors of AIJWG is trying to launch expertise programs in
keeping with the country’s needs. The Association is in a position to help
Iranian Jewish women and girls to display their capacities and talents.
The board of directors of Association of Iranian Women and Girls consist of
Farangis Hesidim, Farideh Pouranian, Flora Tavakoli, Flora Akhavan, Sarah Kahen,
Forough Vahdat and Farzaneh Tehrani.
