unbiased programs and
reports, which are projected to address all
the Jews around the world
Voice of David Radio
Station, which is stationed in Tehran, has been broadcasting programs in
Hebrew language for a few months. To this effect, the Palestinian daily
Al-Sanareh Bab of Jordan has conducted an interview with Amir Behjati,
the editor of the radio. The following is the script of the interview:
Amir Behjati underscores the
fact that the Iranian have an absolutely different vision of the Jewish
faith, which stands in total contrast to the Iranian perspective of
Zionism and the ruling regime in the Zionist entity.
Q.
Why did you decide to call this radio station “the Voice of David”?
A.
You may have asked us this very question if we had; for instance, given
this radio broadcast services the name “Moshe (Moses).” The Jewish
prophet, David was privileged with numerous fine attributes. Among his
many fine attributes was his immensely sweet and heart-warming voice.
Q.
Almost everyone around the world knows perfectly well that there is no
diplomatic relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran (IRI) and the
so-called state of Israel. The question now goes begging as to what has
been at the core of your intentions for establishing this radio
broadcast service?
A. It
goes without saying that we as Muslims extend our official recognition
to Jewish religion as a monotheistic divine faith and regard the Jewish
prophets among our own. In fact, the holy Koran has allocated a whole
verse to prophet Joseph and other prophets of Israel. However, as far as
Zionism and the Zionist ideology are concerned, we should assert that we
do not recognize them since the Zionists have misused the Jewish faith
to promote their illegal political and economic objectives. This bogus
regime is an absolute disgrace to the Jewish faith and we, at the
“Voice of David Radio Station” are doing our best to bring to light
some very widespread misconceptions through our broadcasting of genuine
and well-established facts and news.
Q.
What are your main objectives for your radio broadcast services and what
are these objectives focusing on?
A.
We, at this radio station, are trying to bring the real facts to light
and voice the views and the reasons for those who oppose the Zionists
entity as well as shedding light on policies adopted by the usurper
regime in the occupied Palestinian lands. We also try to provide new
approaches for peaceful co-existence among the followers of different
religious faiths.
Q.
Our last question is about what sorts of positive reactions you have so
far experienced from political groups in Israel proper and how you have
managed to recruit your required technical staff in order to make this
Hebrew-language radio programs operational?
A. We held talks with various Jewish
personalities from Palestine. These talks were carried out with those
Jewish people, who are against Sharon’s terrorist policies and are
opposed to the Zionist movement as well. As far as our staffs are
concerned, we rely on the expertise of those recruits who are well
informed about the policies of the Zionist regime. Under the present
circumstances, we think we cannot do more than what we are doing right
now in view of our current budget constraints. I should like to express
my best wishes for the establishment of lasting peace in Palestine and
the restoration of the rights of those who have been deprived of their
natural rights.
